A podcast is media file, such as music, which can
be shared, listened to and downloaded from the internet for playback on iPods or MP3 players, and computers.

The word podcast is simply a mix of two words, iPod and broadcast.
Put them together and you have the podcast.
The maker of a podcast is often called a podcaster.
