Success Stories !

February 2009
Put forward by: Ed, Rhion and Joe
Class: 5D
Suggestion: Some of the portions given to children that stay for school dinners were too small and they would like to have bigger portions.
Actions: Spoke to Mr Duff and then Mr Knight about this. Wrote a letter to the kitchen staff raising their suggestion.
Outcome: Larger food portions at lunchtime !!
Comments: The children showed a very mature attitude when dealing with this. Their suggestion was listened to and actions were taken. The kitchen staff were very receptive to their ideas and an immediate change was made. Well done boys - Mr Duff
We were glad to see a big improvement in the portion sizes and that our views and opinions were listened to. We were also pleased that we were allowed to write the letter to the kitchen staff straight away - Ed, Rhion and Joe

March 2009
Put forward by: Anna
Class: 5D
Suggestion: Due to the fact that the middays have to get the hall ready for afternoon P.E. lessons, sometimes children were moved to other tables whilst they were having lunch in order for the middays clear up. I would like to suggest that once a child is allocated a table to eat their lunch they stay there and don't get moved.
Actions: Spoke to Mr Duff. who then spoke to Mr Knight. The suggestion was then discussed with Mrs Davis (head of middays) and a solution was quickly found.
Outcome: No children, whether they are packed lunch or school dinners, get moved whilst they are still eating.
Comments: I thought this was a excellent suggestion but also a sensitive one. I could see why some children were moved, as getting the hall ready for the afternoon lessons can sometimes be a rush, but I would also not like being moved myself if I was eating lunch. I was very pleased that a soultion was quickly found and that everyone is happy - Mr Duff
I was glad that I was listened to straight away and since speaking to Mr Duff it has not happened since - Anna

It's your Shout !!!

We are listening

How do I get my voice heard?

There are two ways:

You can either let Mr Duff know via the website or drop your suggestion in the school's Voice Box, which is located in the hall.
